Alone

One blue-gray dolphin,
four gray-blue dolphins,
swimming along the coast.

The first, blue-gray,
dives down deep,
letting the dark slide past
and seaweed brush
his blue-gray skin.
Nose down, diving deep,
ignoring the fish scrambling
out of his way.

Up above, way above,
the four gray-blues
chatter and trill,
leaping, twisting,
and diving, only to
resurface in seconds,
their games blinding them,
unknowing
of blue-gray’s disappearance.
